Marketing, branding, photoshop, photography

A billboard poster with three related social posts advertising the annual Coachella music festival held in the Colorado Desert. The designs highlight the nighttime festivities, represented through the integration of the night blooming moon flower into the logo.

Research & Inspiration

The festival is known for its lively atmosphere, huge stages, art displays, and ferris wheel horizon.

  • The moonflower, found in the colorado desert only blooms at night, and resembles some of the art attractions on display.

Marketing Breif

The Logo

The new branding for the event centers around Coachella at night. The new logo integrates a rare moonflower, native to the Colorado Desert, that only blooms at night. This communicates the exclusivity of the event at night. The moonflower also reflects the abstract art featured at Coachella.

Iterations

Digital iterations combine the landscape theme seen throughout initial concepts.

  • The first image started was created using a paper fan, edited to bring out the ridges similar to strobe lights.

  • Switching to a horizontal format to better show the immersive environment elevated the design.

Process Visual

To achieve the depth of the final billboard graphic, I utilized many layers, building the landscape from the ground up. Watch the video for a look at the process and layers!

Social Posts

Created three social posts to appeal to different segments of the target audience.

  • (1) Appeals to those familiar with the event, or serves as a general attention grabber

  • (2) Appeals to music fans

  • (3) Appeals to those less familiar with the event
